Agua University - Class of Fall 2007

class of fall 2007 - valley edition

Throughout the summer of 2007, 25 students from the Cypress Park community and other geographical areas throughout the Los Angeles River Watershed successfully  completed Agua University.

Attending students came from different levels of environmental understanding.  While some had previously been exposed to environmental issues and topics through school programs, for most this was the first time they were exposed to environmental issues with “labels”.   The students were exposed to professionals working in various environmental protection and conservation fields as well as to individuals making a difference in our communities through proactive action.

On August 14th, 2007 the students celebrated their accomplishment and had an opportunity to present the information they learned to their peers, parents, sponsors and guests.  Also present were representatives from Councilmember Ed Reyes’ office, Lupe Vela and Rogelio Rodriguez, who awarded the graduates with City Certificates of completion.

Special thanks to Mark Gentili, Water Conservation Specialist, from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power for providing all of the graduates with Water and Energy Conservation Kits.

Educating our future decision makers.  You can, You will.
